Welcome

The Bay St. George Folk Arts Council is a recently formed organization whose mission is to promote folk art in the Bay St. George and Port au Port Peninsula areas. The executive has been formed and events have been ongoing since March 2007. Check out our archive page for event pictures.

Check our meeting schedule page. While there are lots of ideas being discussed for future projects, immediately the Council will be concerned with establishing a folk night where local artists will have the opportunity  to showcase their talents.

Interested? Check us out - join our organization. We need everyone - professional musicians, organizers, kitchen players, storytellers, step dancers, actors, artists of all sorts, and those simply interested in promoting our culture and heritage. This area offers a wealth of talent and considerable cultural diversity which includes French, Irish, Scottish,  American, and Mi'kmaq influence.  Join up and be a part of helping to keep our heritage alive.
